At Trail Advantage we believe that at beginner and intermediate levels learning and developing fundamental / core skills is an essential way to improve your riding. They provide the building blocks to gaining confidence and to getting more enjoyment from your time on the trail. Some of the key elements covered on a Trail Advantage skills course include:

• Bike set up

• Reading the trail

• Body position

• Weight distribution

• Braking

• Cornering

• Climbing

• Descending

Our style of coaching is relaxed and fun, but also structured in a way to make sure everyone gets the most out of their time with us. We also invite questions from the group during the session and a 1:6 coaching ratio ensures that all the group members receive coaching points personal to their progress and development during coaching.

Learn and develop in confidence

Trail Advantage coaches hold recognised Scottish Mountain Bike Leader Awards (SMBLA), this is endorsed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and Mountain Leader Training Scotland, it is also recognised by British Cycling. In addition coaching staff are qualified British Cycling Level 2 MTB coaches and are fully first aid trained and hold an outdoors first aid qualification.
